July in the garden
July in the garden was lovely, on one hand, and… er… messy, on the other. On the one hand, we had our first veg from the plot! How exciting. We’ve had two batches of beetroot, with lots more to come, and we finally cut off our first cucumber. There are only another two on the vine, so I’m not sure if we’re going to experience much of a glut, but that’s okay.
We had our housewarming party on a gloriously sunny day a couple of weeks ago, which was lovely and it was so nice to have the outdoor space for people to spill into (although it was too hot for me!). Yay, how nice.
But then the day after the party, the builders arrived, and now the garden is pretty much a dumping ground. And in a couple of weeks, once they have taken all that crap away, they’re also going to remove the decking, so it’s going to look potentially even worse! But it has to get worse before it gets better, right? Right!?
