#LifeCaptured – memories from February 2016
Taking part in the #LifeCaptured project, keeping memories every month.
How are you feeling about this year?
Really good, so far. It’s been challenging for all sorts of reasons, but I feel like myself again, something I wasn’t sure I would actually be able to say this time last year!
Where do you want to live when you are old?
This is something Peter and I have talked about a little bit lately. Not so much ‘when we are old’ but where we want to live next. This was never going to be the ‘forever home’, but I love living here and want to stay here as long as we can still fit in it (which should be a long time!). He keep talking about moving out of London, but I don’t want to move out of London. He suggests places near the coast, which would be beautiful to live in, and I’m sure having wonderful, thriving communities. And I know that friends of mine who DON’T live in London think everyone who lives there is crazy. But to me, it is home. I don’t live centrally, I live in zone 3, just as the bustling city starts to blend into the lazier suburbs. There is still enough hustle and bustle, I can get the train or the tube into the city centre if I choose to or (more likely), I can ignore the city entirely and just live south of the river. But it’s nice to have the option. Plus my parents and my aunts and cousins are all here, I really don’t want to have a long commute and I’m definitely not giving up work. Maybe as I (and Theo) get older, I’ll change my mind, but right now, I see myself staying not too far from where I am now.
What are you struggling with the most right now?
Exhaustion. Just as we get used to Theo sleeping through the night, he throws 4 wake-ups in one night at us. Zzzzz.
What’s something that you’re currently excited about?
My friend getting married in the summer. It’s a while off yet, but we’ve just had the hen do email and the wedding is super close to home, which is always a bonus. I didn’t think we were going to have a wedding this year, so I was very, very excited when she announced she had gotten engaged. And thrilled for her, too, of course, not just happy that I have a wedding to go to (I really love a wedding).
What are you watching on television these days?
Deutschland 83, The X-Files (er… shaky start, but I’m hoping things will look up), and that’s about it. Looking forward to The Night Manager starting this weekend.
What are three things from this past month that you’re thankful for?
- That Peter can take time off work at the last minute, if it’s needed. I was very, very ill on Sunday night/Monday morning, so he took Monday off to help me out with Theo. I genuinely don’t know what I would have done if he had gone into work.
- I am so thankful for a group of my girlfriends. We met in my last job, and they have really become some of my favourite people of all time. We went out one night in February and spent pretty much the entire night laughing.
- My parents have been away this month and I miss them so much! Having them away has made me very thankful that they are usually just down the road.
What are you grateful for this month? Any good TV I should keep my eye out for? We don’t have Netflix, which is where all the talked about TV seems to be these days! Worth it?Keep in touch
